Tips for searching for free stuffs on the Net
Searching the net for the first time by typing a word into a search engine and coming with a response of 63, 173 listings found is like finding a needle in a football field. Clearly it becomes mandatory that you have a strategy for narrowing your search.
1. Start with general search tools:
Begin with general search tool such as AltaVista, Excite, Hotbot, Lycos and Yahoo. Later, if you haven’t been able to narrow your search, go to specific search tools.
2.Choose your search term well and watch your spelling:
Use the most precise word possible. If you’re looking for information about Joseph Yobo, you may need to use several similar words to explore the topic you’re investigating.
3. Use phrase with quotation mark rather than separate words:
If you type football kit, you could get result of
** Everything to do with football and
** Everything to do with kit on the other hand.
Better to put your phrase in quotation mark “football kit” to narrow your search.
Put unique word first in a phrase:
Better to have “Chinua Achebe Novels” rather than “Novels Chinua Achebe”
4.Use operators – AND, OR, NOT, and + and – signs:
Most search sites use symbols called Booleen Operators to make searching more precise. To illustrate how they are used, suppose you’re looking for information about “Drug use by Marion Jones” AND connects two or more search words and means that all of them must appear in the search result. E.g. Marion Jones and Drugs.
•OR connects two or more search words and indicates that any of the two may appear in the result.
•NOT when inserted before a word, excludes that word from the results.
•+ (Plus sign) like AND, precedes a word that may be included in the search results. E.g. + EFCC + IBORI
•- (minus sign) like NOT, excludes the word that follows it. E.g. Nations Cup – Nigeria
•Read the Help or Search tips section
All search sites provides a help section and tips. This could save you a lot of time.
•Try an alternate general site or specific search site:
If you’re looking for very specific information, a general type of search site such as Yahoo or Google may not be best way to go. Instead, you should turn to a specific search site.
NB:Some search engines are “case sensitive”. Changing the keywords from lower to upper case may bring out a different set of search results.

How to get free stuffs on the Net
Every day new websites pop up offering free electrical goods and the internet is littered with people claiming to have received free games consoles, iPhones, a free iPod and even laptops or Plasma HDTVs.
As hard as that may be to believe, the majority of those claims are true. This article attempts to put the record straight and explain how!
How can it be possible to give expensive goods away for nothing?
The phenomenon of referral marketing allows consumers to receive highly sought after free gifts through what are essentially advertising websites (known as a referrals website).
It's probably best to illustrate this with an example. Let's say you decide to sign up to get a free iPod Shuffle:
The first thing you will be asked to do is take out an advertiser's offer. If you are based in the UK, recommended offers include a free, no obligation DVD rental by post trial with LOVEFiLM or maybe a free ringtone download; most US sites carry similar offers with Blockbuster and various other well known and respected sponsors.
Step two is to refer others to repeat the process (hence the term “referrals website”). An iPod Shuffle would typically require just two referrals and we all have a couple of friends who could be persuaded to take up their own DVD rental trials.
Job done, just wait for the postman with your free iPod Shuffle!
This all seems very quick and easy but who are the winners? Why does it work?
Three potential customers who have actually tried their service and may well like to keep it.
Referral rates vary depending on the item you are after but you get the idea – everybody wins!
Do you have any proof?
Of course, I even have a proof page! What better testimonial could you want than real items received by real people. There are literally hundreds of threads in the I Got My Free Item section of the eXceem free community forum; the system has proven so successful that it was also featured in a video podcast by the BBC's Newsnight program – take a look here.
The Verdict
If you are willing to take up a free trial such as the DVD rental with LOVEFILM referred to in this article, then yes, you will be receiving free gifts like the free iPhone 3GS or a free PS3 in no time at all!

how to find free stuffs online
Hundreds and even thousands of free items can be obtained online, but the trick is knowing where to find them. Items like free screen savers, free computers, free fonts, free games, free web hosting, free gift cards, free MP3 players, and much more can easily be obtained if you just know where to look.
STEPS
1. There are many sites that are entirely devoted to cataloging free stuff. Anyone of these are the best place to start your search.
2. Many sites are devoted to giving away high ticket items such as free iPods, free computers, and free game systems. There are so many of these sites out there that it can be difficult to determine which ones are legit. Here you will find an extensive list of free offer sites, ratings of the various sites, and a forum where you can discuss free offers with fellow freebie-hunters.
3. If you are looking for a particular free item and you just can't seem to find, then your next best option is to use a search engine. Enter the item you are looking for into the search box along with the word free. If you do not receive satisfactory results then you should enter the term + free, but this time enclose your search phrase within quotation marks. This will limit your results to specific instances of the phrase along with the word free.
WARNING!
* Only download software from reputable sources. If you can't find a free program on websites like SourceForge or Download.com, chances are you don't want it on computers. Websites loudly advertising "free screen savers" and the like are often there to put spyware and adware on your system, or to collect and sell e-mail addresses to spammers.
* If you're downloading software, make sure you have a decent, up-to-date antivirus program, and anti-ad/spyware programs. Use them! Some suggestions for free (to home users), regularly updating antivirus programs for Windows are ClamWin and AVG Free. Ad-Aware is a good place to start for anti-adware.

2. Choose your search term well and watch your spelling:
Use the most precise word possible. If you’re looking for information about novelist (Author of things fall apart), you may need to use several similar words to explore the topic you’re investigating.
3. Use phrase with quotation mark rather than separate words:
If you type football kit, you could get result of
*Everything to do with football and
* Everything to do with kit on the other hand.
Better to put your phrase in quotation mark “football kit” to narrow your search.
Put unique word first in a phrase:
Better to have “Chinua Achebe Novels” rather than “Novels Chinua Achebe”
4. Use operators – AND, OR, NOT, and + and – signs:

E.g. Marion Jones and Drugs.
· OR connects two or more search words and indicates that any of the two may appear in the result.
· NOT when inserted before a word, excludes that word from the results.
· + (Plus sign) like AND, precedes a word that may be included in the search results. E.g. + EFCC + IBORI
· - (minus sign) like NOT, excludes the word that follows it. E.g. Nations Cup – Nigeria
· Read the Help or Search tips section
All search sites provides a help section and tips. This could save you a lot of time.
· Try an alternate general site or specific search site:
If you’re looking for very specific information, a general type of search site such as Yahoo or Google may not be best way to go. Instead, you should turn to a specific search site.
NB: Some search engines are “case sensitive”. Changing the keywords from lower to upper case may bring out a different set of search results.
Each of these search engines has its own unique feature and constant usage will help the user know the particular search engine that particularly suites him or her. With the above knowledge, lets proceed to the real business proper.
